Cleaning gold anode
« on: October 23, 2018, 04:09:08 AM »
It seems there is a white filmy layer that builds up on the gold when used as an anode and cathode.  How to clean it off between uses?  ???

Just wipe it with a cloth or plastic scrubber. I personally would not be concerned unless the build-up became significant.

If you have buildup on your anode, its because you have contaminants in your ingredients.  The anode should come out cleaner than it went in.

Thanks for your replies.  The build up is on the cathode which was also gold.  I now read that should be copper.

The cathode can be copper, silver, gold, stainless steel, but its a waste of gold to use that.

Thank you kephra!   :)

1 Liter completed.

We were using AC power at 120volt and 600-650mHA

Is this a good power supply?

Yes, that should do you well.  I have one just like it.
Going steady on this colloidal gold and the dreams are out of this world. (Taking before bed) :D

Ah thanks for your comment.  wgpeters, have you tried any other elements?

I'm thinking silver would be no problem for this power supply.  Anyone know the voltage and amps for silver?

What about other copper/zinc/platinum group elements?
