Mine lasted 5 years before the heating element burned out.  The power cord is easily replaceable if thats what broke.  It is a standard power cord.  However, caveat emptor.

How do you know it is the power cord? That seems like a strange thing to wear out unless you unplug it from the back of the unit each time. Maybe it's the fuse?

It is the power plug.

But here is an update...

The seller is going to send a replacement.
So i am very happy.
