Title: Trisodium Citrate
Post by: tony14 on March 07, 2019, 12:29:44 PM
Now venturing into colloidal gold. Kephra's 'quick colloidal gold' hard to do here due to finding the gold chloride.

There appears to be a range of trisodium citrate termed 'E331' food grade.

E331 (i) Monosodium citrate
E331 (ii) Disodium citrate
E331 (iii) Trisodium citrate

Looking at https://bit.ly/2ToL2YO (https://bit.ly/2ToL2YO) Is this ok?

thanks, tony

I used tri-sodium citrate.  I think it is the most common variant.

@Kephra, in  Electrolysis-I  Gold process, you said Tri-sodium sitrate monohydrate to use, but i cant find it in my country anywhere, i only find TRI-SODIUM CITRATE DIHYDRATE which is the formula C6H5Na3O7.2H2O. Which has 294,10 g/mol molar weight.

Is it okay to use?

You can make it like I made it

Will this work for colloidal gold? Thanks for your time.

Yes, it's fine, but you will need to look up the molar weight of this, as it's sodium citrate dihydrate.

Molecular Formula: C6H9Na3O9
Average mass: 294.100 Da
