Have done a lot of reading and have two ??s. Have read about using anhydrous sodium carbonate for making 320ppm. Can washing soda be used and is one better than another? Also I saw some mention about microwaving at end, is this necessary if using a heat plate?
Thank you in advance.

Anhydrous just means there is no water in the crystals. They are both alike in the water.
The only difference is the weight needed to make 1 Molar solutions. Since washing soda has water in it, you need a higher weight for the same amount of water. They work the same.
Microwaving is convenient, but it doesn't matter how you heat it. A hot plate is fine.
