Title: Confirm gold chloride for Sigma
Post by: Holly on June 15, 2020, 08:57:46 AM
Hi everyone. I need your help! I'm about ready to order gold chloride from sigma in Canada. Would someone more knowledgeable than myself please confirm that this GOLD(III) CHLORIDE TRIHYDRATE, 99.9+% CAS# 16961-25-4 is the correct gold chloride to order for the making of Gold Chloride Solution for making Colloidal Gold? I cannot order from Salt Lake Metals as they cannot deliver to Canada. Thank you in advance.

This would work, but I would prefer the one with no hydrate (water) attached to the molecule. It is a lot more expensive though.
All you need to do is add the right amount of distilled water to get the desired concentration of gold to use in the experiment.
