Well I went ahead tried out it 2 ways, first fime failed second time came out great. .
first attempt was starting with cold water, adding gelatin, corn syrup baking soda and then heating water water in microwave, this failed miserably because when boiling in microwave, something crystallized[not sure either the gelatin of the syrup] since it was not fully disolved I didnt start electrolysis with that one so I just tossed the water. .
round 2 I did it a lot different, I added the gelatin corn syrup and baking soda to a 100ml beaker under high stir and on the hot plate , while doing this I had a 1 liter full to about 900 ml in the microwave for about 5-8 minuts to a rolling boil, reached 195 degrees, took it out added the 100 mil beaker with the solution it it which was also arround 195. Placed it on Hot plate stirrer and started electrolysis.
Since this was my first brew with 320ppm and with my new 6"x1.625" silver anode I played arround with amerage and submersion of the cathode,
I was [very disapointed, when I was only peaking 40 mili amps with only about half inch. . dipped the cathode and going in deeper MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE but still didnt much pass 90ma . . . so I realized my very very thin [ithink 16-18awg awg]cathode was really limited my power, so I switched my bullion as an negative and my 6inch plate AND BOOM, the sky was the limit, for testing purposes I briefly all the way 200ma [just for testing to see how high i can go ] definitley amazed, I saw somewhere posted on the boards, that a smoke looking substance coming off the anode is the limit , So I hit that limit at about 160ma, so I backed it down to 120 with no smoke substance. Very happy with this 120
Brewed a liter in about 35-40 minutes, however this was a rough estimate since of all the playing around with amperage and was exactly sure where i was . .
BUT THE SOLUTION LOOKS BEAUTIFUL ONCE DILUTED to 4 table spoons to a liter 20 ppm solution , great clarity, no tyndall !!!!!!! . . THIS WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITH ALL THE GREAT INFO ON this site. .. . THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!So exited
here is a pic of the first batch with a laser thru it. . working on the gallon now!!!! wish me luck!
