how to dilute 320ppm to 80ppm?
« on: June 15, 2020, 07:08:08 AM »
hello,
Please can you share formula to dilute 320ppm to 80ppm or 100ppm and any desired strength. how much goes in 320ppm to make 80 ppm or any other strength as per requirement.
THank you

It's plain maths. Dilute 1 part of 320ppm with 1 part water, and you get 160ppm. Dilute half-and-half again and you get 80ppm. And so on.

Yes, how many ml of 100 ppm do I use to make 20 ppm for 1 litre? Thanks.

How many milligrams of silver are in 1 liter of 100ppm Colloidal Silver?  100 milligrams?
How many milligrams of silver are in 1 liter of 20 ppm Colloidal Silver?   20 milligrams?
How many milliliters of 100 ppm silver would contain the amount needed for 1 liter of 20 ppm?    200 milliliters?
That's correct? ???

Its simple ratio.

320 is 4x 80 so you start with 1 part 320 and to that add 3 parts water which now gives you the 1/4 ratio which gives you 80PPM but 4x as much as you started with.

100ml 320PPM + 300ml water = 400ml 80PPM

If you want a particular amount of 80PPM, divide the total amount you desire by 4, use this amount of 320PPM (1x) and top off with water to the amount you want (3x water) where the ratio is 1/4.

So, if you want 160ml of 80PPM, 160/4 = 40ml so use 40ml of 320PPM and 3x that (120ml) of water and you have 160ml of 80PPM, ratio: 1/(1+3) = 1/4.  Its always <something>/<total>

Hopefully this makes sense.

Yes, now you know and should be able to calculate for any dilution.

Thank You Bill.

1 - I have doubts about ppm.
The concept is to think of mg of silver dissolved in the solution, using Faraday's formula; Minutes = milliliters x ppm x 0.015 / ma.
If I produce 500 ml at 30 ppm, it means that the 500 ml has 30 mg of dissolved silver.
If divided into 2 parts, it means that each 250 ml will have 15 ppm (15mg of silver) ??????
What is the mathematics of this question.
ppm is mg of silver per 1 liter of water. 1 liter of 30ppm will have 30mg of silver.
500ml of 30 ppm will have only 15mg of silver......  30ppm * 500ml / 1000ml
Divide 500ml into 2 parts and its still 30ppm, but each 250ml will have only 30ppm * 250ml/1000ml == 7.5 mg silver.

2 - Dilution of colloidal silver.
I have 1 liter at 100 ppm. I want to make 1 liter at 12 ppm. How to make.???? which is the mathematical formula.
To make 1 liter of 12ppm, you want 12mg of silver.
100ppm has 100mg of silver per liter.
So you want (12ppm/100ppm) * 1000ml = 120ml of 100ppm plus water to make 1000ml
ml of concentrate = (desired quantity in ml) *(desired ppm) / (concentrated ppm)

3 - How to prepare and use the ingredients according to ppm;
1 - maltodextrin.
2 - gelatin.
3 - cinnamon extract. how to make the extract?
