the 1st Colloidal Silver setup with a hot stir plate
« on: April 13, 2015, 01:48:41 PM »
good morning!

i just wanted to show off my silvertron elite set up with hot stir plate. 8)
i originally bought a mini for my mom but i realized she won't be able to make colloidal silver with it.
so i am going to make lots of gelatin capped 320ppm colloidal silver and mail it to her.

1 liter of heated gelatined dw on heated stir plate (with magnet - something very cool about this!). 15ma.
using a copper wire for cathode.
20 drops of e.lyte and 20 drops of r/a.

only thing left to do is making a hole on my maple leaf to attach to a silver wire, for the next time.

i just got it started. looking good.

Nice setup. I'm jealous. How much did the heated stirrer cost?
So many VARIABLES & so little TIME.

I try to set the heat so I have visible bubbling on the bottom, but not so much that the bubbles reach the surface.  I think cooks call that a simmer.  This keeps evaporation to a minimum.

I set the stir speed so that I have a vortex at least an inch or two deep, but not that it reaches the bottom.
Vigorous stirring allows using wire anodes with high current.  With your setup, you only need an inch or two of wire anode in the water.  This is about 500 rpm with. 1 inch stir bar.

Thank you, kephra!

Water is getting dark so can't see in very well any more.
But i assume that it wasn't hot enough.
So made it hotter.

Hope you feel better everyday.

When you get to 320 ppm, it will look like black coffee.  When you dilute a tablespoon into a cup of water, it should have very very little turbidity if you are making it with gelatin.  Your electrodes will have a lot of goop on them though, and I usually clean off the electrodes two or three times during a run.

yes, kephra.

this is the 3rd time making 320 ppm with gelatin.
what i like about hot stir plate is less messy.  nice and clean. and don't need to be heated afterward.
i wasn't crazy about making Colloidal Silver with air pump. way ~ too messy. :-\

just curious, I heard so many not so good things about gelatin silver solution. what's the difference  with this and that?

Is the process entirely  different  from  silver protein that turns you blue when accumulated?

Thanks!

Originally, there was a product called mild silver protein, which was very strong mixture of silver salts and gelatin.  That is not what we are making here.  It was not silver nanoparticles, but was ionic silver in a gelatin base.  It was bad and it did cause argyria.

don't purchase this hot stir plate.
it's not reliable. power plug is broken after 2 months.
and the seller is careless.  total waste.
