Gelatin capping efficiency when hot
« on: January 28, 2016, 05:53:02 PM »
I like to take my colloidal gold by making hot tea out of it.  It occurred to me that no one probably tested the colloidal gold while hot to see if the stabilizing effect still worked at temperatures that melt gelatin.

I took a 2 ounce sample near boiling, and added salt and HCL to find out.  It held up perfectly.  It was still ruby red after 24 hours, so it looks like the gelatin stabilizer is not temperature dependent once applied.
There is the unknown and the unknowable.  It's a wise man who knows the difference.

Good to hear :)

Maybe it's a good idea to always encapsulate colloidal gold, simply because of the risk that the gold nanoparticles could aggregate to larger particles during the passage through the stomach, which will make the gold less effective.
