Have you checked the current with a multi-meter? How accurate is it (tenths, hundredths of a mA?)

No not yet. I have been installing more shelves in my den, today, but will give the regulator a run tomorrow. My problem is that the wife keeps finding unimportant things for me to do, like shopping and putting up a new fence. All very distracting. :)
