I was able to make a batch of Gold on it once, when I went back to make another time it wouldn’t maintain the amperage. It has a way to setup for constant current, I followed the procedure but when it got to the point of actually hooking the anode and cathode up the amperage dropped from the 320mA I had set it up to it dropped to 74mA. I tried adjusting the cathode but I could not make much of any difference. Wondering if anyone has any idea what might be going on. I have repeated this 6 or so times and it was the same result.

If you are making Colloidal Gold, you do not set the PSU to use constant current. You allow the current to fluctuate and set the voltage to maximum. Read the methods described in the Articles again, and pay particular attention to the comments about the power supply.

Using the current knobs set to 1 amp. Set voltage 60 volts . Nothing connected. By raising or lowering Anode (Gold) with Cathode fully immersed and large surface area you can adjust current.
I normally set 0.5 amp at 80 volts by moving anode down and run for @ 1 hr 750 ml to get circa 25 mg gold. As evaporation occurs (I start @ 80C) I lower anode and never let boiling occur. It seems temp can drop 75C and things still work.

hi Tony, the methods posted on forums say to run for 30-35 minutes but you are running for 1 hour, I am little confused, why you running for 1 hour and not 30 minutes, is it because you have more water quantity?

The instruction I put on the forum are what I did with the equipment I had.
If I had a higher current supply and more voltage, I would have used it.
As to time, stop when the color stops getting deeper. It is limited by the amount of salt (chloride) in solution.
