Silvertron mini Silver wire length
« on: January 18, 2016, 10:11:56 PM »
I am looking at getting some additional silver wire to stock up while silver is still relatively inexpensive. It is longer than 6". Is there any reason why I couldn't use a longer silver wire since the excess length would just be coming through the holes in the unit and out of the water?

Sure, it doesn't matter.  It does not have to be 12 gauge either, you can use 14, 12, 10, 8, etc. for the anode.

@Foghorn,
It's so much more fun to buy 1 oz silver bars and drill a tiny hole near the top and wrap through it with a silver wire. Silver wire will still cost you at least $30 an ounce (from a quick search I did, you might find a better deal.) A one ounce silver bar is under $16 and like I said, they're more fun!

Or you could support the forum and buy a 1 ounce bar already made from the silvertron store.

Yes, by all means, support the forum. You have to admit though, bars are cooler than wires.
