Colloidal Gold Color
« on: October 02, 2018, 04:48:04 PM »
So this was my second attempt at making colloidal gold. It looks a little bit off so i'm curious as to what you guys think of it. I added 1 ml gold chloride to 250 ml DW, then the sodium carbonate. I let it come to a boil in the microwave and immediately added the karo solution and let it sit. It turned this color pretty rapidly and after roughly 12 hours it's still the same. Anyway, here is a link to the picture (I tried attaching it to this post but couldn't get it to work)

Thanks the input in advance!

Don't forget to stir well before heating in microwave.  Lack of stirring makes the solution look dull.

Wow, thank you both! Is the cloudy one not safe to drink or ineffective? I can toss it but it feels a little wasteful. Here is my batch using your directions. Thanks again :)

I tried once with taking a bit of the murky colloidal gold. It gives me quickly a slight headache.  I dumped the rest of it.
