What has been used to reduce Colloidal Silver?
« on: May 09, 2018, 10:52:14 PM »
Does anyone have a list, or maybe put together one, on all the substances that has been used as a successful reducing agent for colloidal silver?

Some people don’t like the taste of cinnamon so they don’t use cinnamon to reduce colloidal silver.  So I wonder if peppermint or vanilla has ever been used?  Or the fact that one is a leaf and one is a bean makes a difference?  Roots?

I guess I’m wanting to experiment with substances and wondering if there special guidelines that should be followed?

I will of course record all my steps and procedures as is go!

When the weather gets HOT here, I will have to find other things besides house repairs to keep me from going insane.  :o  Very hot and very cold temperatures are not my friend!

Any help or suggestions are welcome from all.

Lots of stuff will reduce silver, but that does make them ideal for Colloidal Silver production.
Glucose
Fructose
Maltose
Maltodextrin
Soluble starch
Coffee
Vanilla (real, not synthetic)
Cinnamon
e-coli (yep, really)
Ultraviolet light.
sodium borohydride
tannic acid
vitamin C
just about any anti-oxidant (except coatings like paint)
Turmeric
heat
hydrogen
Photographic film developer

Kephra,

WOW what a variety!  Oh where to begin?  I know research!  I’m a slow reader too.  Damn dyslexia!  >:(

That's an impressive list of reducing agents. I tried vanilla a long time back and it worked. I tried liquid stevia and it worked, but later discovered the liquid had other ingredients. Sticking to things that we eat anyway gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.  ;)

Which was why I based my chemistry on food from the start.

Neofizz,

Do you remember how much vanilla you used?  About the same as cinnamon?

Kephra,

Two things I was particularly interested in was chocolate extract and xylitol.  You thoughts please?

Thanks guys, Bobby

It's been a while since I tried this. I'm pretty sure I didn't use more than a couple drops to make a liter of 20 ppm. But this wasn't regular store bought vanilla. It came directly from the source and was a thicker liquid than what you normally get, with a lot of extra flavour. :)

Bobby,

Are you on Facebook? This question was just posted this week in one of the groups I'm in. I'm in 3 Colloidal Silver and colloidal gold, but only 2 are really helpful. I think that a few from here are members or were in the past.  A few are commercial makers of both colloidal gold and silver and exclusively use korads.

I bet we're in at least one of the same groups. I've seen it posted too.

JustDave,

When I said I was on Facebook, I mean it was back when Facebook started.  I can’t even remember anything about the account now.  I will start a new one and let you guys know.  I’ve been wanting to get back on and now I have a couple more reasons.  The groups sound pretty interesting.

My back just locked up early this afternoon.  A nerve gets hung up between two vertebrae.  I’ll be down for 3-10 days now.  I was heading out to do some mowing, but now it’s going to grow, grow, grow before I can get to it!  When it rains it pours!

When we cleared this land and built this place back in 1997, I was a do everything myself 40 year old tough guy.  Boy did that go sideways.  This 2 acres might as well be 20.  My daddy always said, be careful what you wish for.  Words of wisdom.  I sure do miss him.

That's awful Bobby. I hope you are able to find some relief and you are back on your feet much sooner that 10 days!

Sorry to hear you muffed up your back Bobby. I know how you feel. Spent most of the winter that way.

Take care of it and hopefully you will heal sooner rather than later.

Get well quickly Bobby.  Do you make colloidal gold?
