Title: Short Out SilverTron
Post by: edwire on March 05, 2021, 12:31:16 AM
Need some help with my SilverTron. It looks like I've accidentally short out the board. The SilverTron won't read the anode nor the cathode any longer.

Is there a way to reset?

May be faulty cables? I'm going to rule out the cables.

Same result, I've accidentally short out the board while trying to do a direct connection (like in the picture).

I suspect you shorted out the connector when you soldered the positive wire on.  Excess heat melts the plastic insulator in the connector allowing it to short out.

Anything that I can do to fix?

You would have to replace the connector.  When soldering it, make sure to have the lead wire plugged in to keep the center contact from moving.

Kephra, I'm afraid to touch my master piece. Can I ship back? I'll compensate for your time.

Update, the digikey part has been replaced, still the voltage does not move.  Any ideas or something else that I can test?

Oh good grief, I told you to replace the wrong part.  Its the RCA jack (output to leads) which needs to be replaced.
Digikey part number CP-1413-ND
