Silver carbonate has very low solubility.  It comes from the carbonate in the water (carbonic acid) and the sodium carbonate electrolyte reacting with the silver anode.


As I understand it, the yellow-green silver carbonate on the silver anode can only be formed is there's too much carbonate ions compared to silver ions. So I believe that you added too much electrolyte.

No, thats not right at all.  He did not add too much electrolyte.
Colloidal Silver is only a bargain if you make it yourself.
